I was dragged out of bed by Asmadi's yelling on the phone. Married and still wake up at 10am. Showered and got myself ready for catching up w Asmadi's latest detail on his life. He is attached. He smsed me that yesterday and the meet up today is for all the updates. So listened over tea and croissants. Contented that finally simplicity captured my dear friend that i had a crush on when we were younger. He is Indian and i believe that simplicity is never much a word in the Indian dictionary. Indians always have a higher expectations on looks, wealth and race/caste.Thus, simplicity wasnt really in it unless u are about to highlight Ghandhi just to prove me wrong. Surprisingly, the very close Indian frens with me like Shark and Asmadi are kinda different from the typical Indians. They are all Indians with their curly hair, dark skin and curly long lashes. Their intellect? Are still Indian...at times snobbish- still very Indian too but wat makes them a bit different is they no longer put much importance on looks. Please dont think they never place looks as an important factor but its just that, i believe, its no longer as fanatically important like most Indians.
" I am into simplicity now, Liza," As said showing me his new companion. He probably reminiscing about his past roller coaster passionable ride with so called Indian/Paki girl as he concluded wats the point of all that when it only causes heartbreak and deceit. Who wont want to marry into their own race but sometimes, we all have to admit that what spawn from our own ethnicity may not be good or suitable for us. Shark too said that sometimes our own race cannot accept us and thats even more hurtful. Probably its not about race but its definitely about own mentality and belief that 'i am of a superior race and you are just not up to it'. I told Shark that i wont allow my kids to marry snobbish Indians and Arabs (highlighting on the race) when in actual fact, i am very sure i mean more on the characters and belief. I also state that ladies or men shudnt marry someone or anyone that their family think low of. Biarlah orang cakap i kolot macam mana or i am prejudice but ibu mana yang hendak anak mereka dihina. Why do we want to put ourselves in a place that we are seen different or lesser than? Why would i want to allow my kids be place there? Its gonna break my kids hearts or even make them hate me when i fiercely object their Romeo Juliet love but to see them hurt later and be criticised for their looks or race...i just cannot bear it especially if later, grandchildren going to be involved. Frankly, i rather murder their love than murdering their life and their future life (or even their psycho hitler in laws). Enggang biarlah dengan enggang, pipit biarlah dengan pipit. Thats one of the reason too why i marry my own race tho i am half Javanese. Shark and As, since their own race dont really treat them right or accept them, its ok to fly w the pipits/enggangs. It is sad that no matter how old the earth is and how long human has inhibited earth, there are ppl who think like that. Its not much of a prob until of cos, my daughters or sons wish to enter the zone.
Phew! It had been really a while I typed down my opinions and thoughts. Altho i hope that i dont have to deal with such ppl but in real fact, i have to accept the truth that sumday and sumhow whether i like it or not, there are bound to be shoulders rubbed. I have to remind myself too not to be feeling superior altho i dont really see any reason why should i be. Looks, not blessed with much. Wealth, I dont really earn as much as to flash every branded labels around or yada yada huge savings. Caste, i am a malay mix javanese...descend of orang laut and Javanese soldiers that sent to clear the Malaysians land. Thus, this post should remind me of how small a human can be when history is being presented in front.
